Reid won the triple jump with a career best mark of 54 feet, 3 ¾ inches (16.55m) during the UCLA Rafer Johnson / Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational. Reid bettered his previous personal best of 51-11 ¼ (15.83m) in four of the six rounds and moved to No. 2 on the Aggie all-time list, just three inches shy of the 1995 school record. Reid is the current collegiate leader in the event and ranks No. 10 on the 2008 world list. Jessica Beard ran her first 400 of the outdoor season and recorded a collegiate-leading time of 52.04 to defeat an international field, mixed with pros and collegians, at the UCLA Rafer Johnson / Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational. The time by Beard ranks No. 2 on the Aggie all-time list with the No. 6 performance among the top 10 marks produced by A&M’s Clora Williams, the 2006 NCAA 400 Champion. Beard, who also split a 52.6 on the A&M 4 x 400-relay that currently ranks second nationally, is currently fourth on the U.S. list and No. 8 on the 2008 world list in the 400-meter dash.
